Ambulance 850 is a 2009 Ford Chassis; Road Rescue built ambulance. It is the oldest of two ambulances for the City of Mahtomedi. The Mahtomedi Fire Department is an Advanced Life Support (ALS) service, meaning it can provide the highest level of pre-hospital care to our patients. The ambulance service is supported by the Wildwood Lions.
Because we are an ALS ambulance service, we can provide the best care possible before getting to the hospital. Paramedics can diagnose heart attacks using an EKG machine, diagnose strokes, perform emergency airways, start IVs, perform defibrillation, stop critical bleeding quickly and much more. Region's Hospital oversees our medical care, and our medical director is R.J. Frascone.
